Godfather’s Pizza
Godfather’s Pizza, a long time brand with more than 2,000 locations, needed a brand refresh to convey their brand story to a new generation of consumers who know little about their craft quality and history. Drawing inspiration from the “Pizza You Can’t Refuse” positioning, I was able to convince the client not to abandon the Godfather character that they thought would not resonate with younger families. I worked with the client and ad agency to create a bolder, more modern, more “humanized” visual identity coupled with new messaging “It’s not just pizza, it’s a meal” to support their unique brand promise, “Always over the top, never skimpy.” This approach, exemplified by headlines like “Indulge in pizza that’s unapologetically generous,” highlighted the abundance of Godfather’s ingredients and brought the their unique brand promise and personality to life with new, more inspired food shots, cheese pull videos, and smiling faces enjoying the experience…all while incorporating a new Paytronix platform to optimize online ordering.
