When the economy feels uncertain, it’s easy to let a sense of unease slip into your business, particularly with issues involving money. And in early 2025, when yo-yo tariffs and rapidly changing business environments created a high level of uncertainty for all types of businesses, I was asked to refresh UTA’s brand as a leading payment processing company for car dealers, furniture stores, HVAC and plumbing companies, building supplies and transportation companies. To make UTA’s brand more relevant, I suggested new messaging that gave businesses a greater sense of control. A new campaign that tackled the notion of “uncertainty” head on, propelled by a new creative platform “Certainty is our Guarantee” that urged credit managers, business owners and CFO’s to take charge of their payment processing with Nextgen, a suite of products that included UTA’s Guaranteed Payments Program. Using trade show signage, sales sheets, emails, landing pages, and social media, this “Certainty” campaign was able to make a deeper emotional connection with our target audience, build category ownership for UTA, and generate measurable sales increases.  A big thanks to the team at Mad4Marketing who hired me for this project and provided much-needed support.
