When the economy feels uncertain, it’s easy to let a sense of unease slip into your business, particularly with issues involving money. And in early 2025, when yo-yo tariffs and rapidly changing business environments created a high level of uncertainty for all types of businesses, I was asked to refresh and enhance UTA’s brand as a leading payment processing company serving car dealers, furniture stores, HVAC and plumbing companies, building supplies and transportation companies. To make UTA’s brand more relevant, I suggested a new marketing strategy that would flow from their business strategy of giving businesses a greater sense of control.

By tackling the notion of “uncertainty” head on, propelled by a new “Certainty is our Guarantee” brand promise, UTA urged credit managers, business owners and CFO’s to take charge of their payment processing with Nextgen, a suite of products that included UTA’s Guaranteed Payments Program. Using trade show signage, sales sheets, emails, landing pages, and social media, this “Certainty” campaign was able to build and enhance the UTA brand, make a deeper emotional connection with their target audience,  and generate measurable sales increases in the process.  A big thanks to the team at Mad4Marketing who hired me for this project and provided much-needed support.
